Ball mill operate manual: what to do if has problems not working

The maintenance of ball mill is regular work, the following is the right methods to maintain the machine: 
1、Every month should release all the lube oil, cleaning thoroughly.
Then in the medium maintain (6 months) change the lube oil.    
2、 Check the lubrication situation and oil level every 4 hours
3、The main shaft bearing temperature no more than 55℃ when working 
4、The temperature of drive bearing and reducer no more than 55℃, the highest less than 60℃.
5、Bull gear and pinion gear working smooth and steady, adjust the gap in time 
6、Ball mail working steady, without sharp shaking 
7、Motor electric current without abnormal fluctuation
8、The fattener without loose, junction without without oil leak, water leak, slurry leak.
9、 Add steel ball in time
10、Stop the machine when emergency happens 
11、Exchange the lining plate when is wearing out 70% or has 70mm cracks.
12、Exchange bolt when its damaging makes plates loose 
13、Exchange main bearing when it wearing out 
14、Bull gear one surface wearing out can use the opposite surface  
15、Pinion gear should be replaced immediately.  
16、Welding the helix in the feed inlet and out inlet,  
17、Repair the foundation bolt when it loose or damaged

1.Partial abrasion of the cylinder
the reason:
1) The liner is not installed in a wrong position;
2) Continue to run after the liner falls off;
3) There is material scouring between the liner and the cylinder.
Solution:
1) Staggered installation of liners;
2) Repair or replace the liner;
3) Make the liner closely fit the cylinder.
2. There is a knocking sound during operation, and the sound is loud
the reason:
Part of the liner bolts are not tightened. When the ball mill rotates, the liner hits the cylinder of the ball mill

Judge the position of the liner of the ball mill according to the sound position, and find out the loose bolts for tightening
3.The running sound of the ball mill is dull, the reading of the ammeter drops, and the output is small
the reason:
1) Too many filling materials and large particle size;
2) The material has high water content, sticky balls are ground, and the grate is blocked;
3) The grinding body is improperly filled or misaligned due to the shifting of the silo, and the length of each silo is unreasonable.
Solution:
1) Reduce the filling material and reduce the particle size of the mill;
2) Reduce the moisture content of the material and clean the grate;
3) Adjust the proportion of grinding body and the length of each bin.
4.The ball mill fails to start or the motor is overloaded when starting
the reason:
1) There is a problem with the motor system;
2) There are obstacles in the rotating part;
3) When the machine is shut down for a long time, the materials and grinding bodies in the ball mill are not removed in time, and the wet materials condense into agglomerates. When the machine starts, the grinding bodies are not thrown off, which increases the motor load.
Solution:
1) Check and repair the motor system;
2) Clean up obstacles in the revolving part;
3) Clean the materials and grinding bodies in the ball mill, remove the agglomerated materials and part of the grinding bodies, and stir and mix the remaining materials and grinding bodies.
5.Gear tooth surface wears too fast
the reason:
1) Poor lubrication or lubricating oil mixed with impurities, metals, etc.;
2) The meshing gap is too large or too small, and the contact is poor;
3) The gear processing quality does not meet the requirements;
4) Poor material and insufficient tooth surface hardness;
5) Poor assembly;
6) Ore and other abrasive particles enter between the teeth.
Solution:
1) Strengthen bone moisturizing or replace lubricating oil;
2) Adjust the meshing gap;
3) The processing process is strictly controlled, and substandard parts are eliminated;
4) Quenching and tempering treatment;
5) Readjust;
6) Perform cleaning.
6.The bearing of the ball mill is overheated and the motor is overloaded
the reason:
1) Too much or too little grease;
2) The lubrication pipeline is blocked, causing the lubricating oil not to enter the lubrication point;
3) Improper installation of bearings or couplings;
4) The gap between the journal and the bearing bush is too large or too small, resulting in poor contact;
5) Damage to the oil groove causes the oil to fail to flow into the journal or bearing bush, etc.
Solution:
1) Add enough oil as required, generally 1/3 to 1/2 of the bearing gap is appropriate;
2) Unblock the lubrication pipeline;
3) Install the bearing or coupling correctly;
4) Adjust the gap between the journal and the bearing bush;
5) Check the oil tank in time.
7. Vibration occurs after the motor with a reducer is started
the reason:
1) The gap between the two wheels of the coupling is too small, and it is difficult to compensate for the amount of movement caused by the magnetic center of the motor when the motor starts;
2) The transmission coupling of the reducer, motor and drive shaft does not maintain a high degree of coaxiality, causing the two shafts to be misaligned;
3) The connecting bolts of the coupling are not tightened symmetrically, and the tightening force is different;
4) The outer ring of the bearing is not fixed properly.
Solution:
1) Adjust the gap between the counter wheels according to the regulations;
2) Make the two shafts concentric;
3) Tighten the connecting bolts of the coupling symmetrically with the same torque;
4) Fix the outer ring of the bearing.
8.Huge vibration occurs when the reducer belt mill
the reason:
1) The balance shaft of the ball mill and the reducer is not in a straight line;
2) The large-scale ball mill has large volume and heavy weight, which causes the foundation to sink and cause displacement.
Solution:
1) Re-adjust so that the axis of the ball mill mill and the axis of the reducer are on the same plane axis;
2) Set up monitoring settlement points next to the foundation to observe and make adjustments when any subsidence is found.
9.The reducer bearing heats up and the running sound is abnormal
the reason:
1) The exhaust hole of the reducer is blocked;
2) The balance wheel and the intermediate wheel of the reducer are not installed according to the specified meshing teeth.
Solution:
1) Detect the temperature of the reducer bearing and clear the exhaust hole;
2) The balance wheel and the intermediate wheel are installed according to the specified meshing teeth.
10.Gear bearing vibration, excessive noise, accompanied by impact sound
the reason:
1) The bearing cap or bearing seat bolts are loose;
2) Excessive bearing wear;
3) Poor bearing installation;
4) The gear is worn too much, the lubricating oil is too dirty or lacks lubricating oil;
5) Improper gear meshing, large gear radial or axial runout;
6) The connecting bolts of the large gear are loose or the counterpart bolts are loose;
7) Gear machining accuracy is not up to the requirements;
8) The anchor bolts of the hollow bearing housing or the transmission bearing housing are loose or the rubber ring is worn;
9) The coupling bolt is loose or the rubber ring is worn.
Solution:
1) Tighten the bolts;
2) Replace the bearing;
3) Bearing alignment adjustment;
4) Repair or replace gears and strengthen lubrication;
5) Adjust the gear;
6) Tighten the bolts;
7) Repair or replace;
8) Tighten bolts or replace rubber rings;
9) Tighten or replace.
11.Mill vibration, abnormal axial movement
the reason:
1) The local sinking of the ground at the bottom of the machine causes the installation of the mill to be uneven;
2) The bottom surface of the foundation is eroded due to oil leakage, and the bottom bolts are loose.
Solution:
1) The machine can be shut down for processing, and the sinking part can be adjusted by adding pads to make the ground under the machine level;
2) Remove the secondary grouting layer corroded by the oil, and re-bury the anchor bolts, then adjust the mill, and then tighten the anchor bolts.
