Hydro cyclone has replaced mechanical classifiers in many modern grinding plants,as they are more efficient, especially in the finer size ranges,they also need less floor space and consume less power. Due to the relatively short residence time of particles within the cyclone,the mill circuit can rapidly be brought into balance if any changes are made and oxidation of particle within the circuit is reduced.
